Before there was social media marketing and we all started pitching and spamming our businesses to each other online, there was simply word of mouth. We didn't even call it marketing necessarily. It's the same simple act today that we have been doing for years, we find something that we like or dislike and we share with our friends and family about said product, movie, song, business, etc, etc.
As Hilary at insightpool shares,
"Everyone secretly wants to know what other people are saying about them..."
This includes brands and businesses. Hilary uses the 2004 movie, Mean Girls to talk about how word of mouth marketing (WOMM) applies to your business
, how you can implement it and how to connect with those that ARE spreading your message.
