Where Does the Customer Experience Begin?

Unread post by Lany Sullivan » Tue Jul 14, 2015 8:41 am

When you think of customer experience which area of your business do you think of first?

Marketing? Customer Service? IT?

While customer experience initially lends itself to a marketing focus first and foremost, it should be noted that customer experience should be embedded into every area of your business. You're marketing to invoke excitement about your brand, product or service, but have you thought about your customer service? What happens when your customers have issues with your product? Do you have a good plan in place to resolve your customer's issues? What happens if and when your product goes viral? Can your website manage a huge influx of traffic? Is your IT department prepared to maintain your website so that the customer experience continues to be awesome?

The brands that are showcased in this article really emphasize that thought, energy and effort that needs to be put into your customer experience across all departments in your business.

On the smaller scale, it's also important for coaches and consultants to capture their individual clients' great customer service "high" immediately.

Know that someone just hung up happy? Send a note to say how you enjoyed the call too and that you'd love to include them (and their URL) on your website with a quick testimonial.

That is a great tip, Marisa! I love to send out cards to people. It's a dying art form that holds so much power.
